Meditation 101: introduces you to several forms of this practice, each from both historical and contemporary perspectives. This informative class will help you understand the universal appeal of meditation. You'll learn the tools to start experiencing improved health, personal insight, spiritual growth, mindfulness, and mental clarity. If you are a registered student, please click here.

Buddhism 101: Course #: 710013

This introductory class will offer a textual, historical, and anthropological survey of the Buddhist tradition. Topics covered will include origins and history, doctrine, ethical beliefs, meditation, ritual, monastic, and popular traditions. Students will learn about basic Buddhist concepts, terms and teachings concerning the Buddha, His Teachings, and the Sangha, i.e. the community of clergy. Also, students will be able to demonstrate the relevant historical motives and links underlying these concepts as Buddhism spread from India to other parts of Asia and eventually to the world outside of Asia.
